A large percentage of today’s young generation is obsessed with staying slim. Forget eating healthy, these individuals don’t like to eat at all out of fear of putting on weight. Some do it out of peer pressure while others are simply infatuated with the concept of size O. The intensity of the problem is so massive that anorexia and bulimia are more than common. On the other hand, there is another category of individuals who eat like there is no tomorrow! Unable to burn off excess calories, these individuals suffer from unhealthy accumulation of fat & bulging waistlines. It is no wonder that obesity is on the rise and so are severe health issues.

While no one can deny that ‘Food is to a human what petrol is to a car’, there is desperate need to strike a balance when it comes to eating healthy & staying in shape.  Emaciated, potbellied or healthy, you decide.

No matter what you do in life, there is always a silent motivator that urges you to push the envelope just a little bit further. If you look around you, you will find everyone working towards achieving bigger, better feats, faster than anyone else. Incentives are those stimulant forces that take us by the hand and lead us towards dreams of a better life, a bigger home, a larger pay packet and newer opportunities to outshine others.

In the absence of enticement, it would be impossible to move a person from his still waters towards a whirlwind of determined action, followed by fulfillment of desires, hopes and aspirations. As a responsible employer, it is your prerogative to sufficiently compensate your employees so that they are happy & motivated to deliver.

Getting ahead of one’s counterparts, moving up the corporate ladder and staying on top come what may, are just some of the guiding forces behind the pursuit of business success. While there is no denying that hard work, innovative thinking, high standards of proficiency & exceptional capabilities are essential ingredients for winning, the winds of change today suggest that becoming victorious is not an option anymore, rather it is a necessity. And to achieve this, business magnates are willing to go to any lengths to ensure that success is theirs and theirs alone. Often, the weak, though equally deserving are left far behind in the rate race. After all, all is fair in love, war and business!

If it wasn’t for globalization, our world would not be what it is today – intertwined, collaborated & progressively unified towards reaching common goals like growth & development. There is integration of sorts, what with domestic markets opening up to foreign investments, large scale employment opportunities being created in all major sectors and knowledge sharing between countries and economies. Opportunities for growth are limitless on this global network! However, critics believe there is a downside to globalisation too and it is manifested in the form of uneven distribution of wealth. The rich are becoming richer while the poor are struggling to make ends meet. Add to this the tendency to outsource businesses to cheaper counterparts across the globe, a trend which is seen as counterproductive.

When was the last time you were struck by a brain wave – that sudden brilliant, spontaneous idea that changed your life forever? Behind every invention is a brilliant idea that holds the power to change lives in more ways than one. The concept behind ideas was discussed and studied by some of the earliest philosophers such as Plato and their practical application can be seen at play in our daily lives, both at home and in business. Ideas are like propellers – giving us the motivation to try something new. It is fascinating to see how people relate to light bulbs whenever they draw a person with an idea. After all, both serve the same purpose. Just as switching on a light bulb in a dark, dingy room provides clear vision; an innovative idea holds the key to future growth, targetted progress & all round gains. What’s YOUR idea?

Have you ever had the feeling of just knowing that something good or bad was about to happen? This is the power of intuition. When these intuitive powers are repeatedly proven as true, they can be termed as psychic abilities!

The human mind is a complex machine that has an identity of its own. If it wasn’t for the intellect, our mind would easily go haywire.

“Life is an attitude of the mind”, “What you think, you become” – these quotes further reiterate the belief that our mind controls and directs our thoughts, actions, ideas and sensibilities. Food for thought, eh!
